Mark Thomas our Infrastructure Lead was engaged to undertake programme management duties for this mega metro project in the Thai capital.
His work commenced at the very early stages, where he provided expertise in first principles planning focused primarily on procurement of suitably qualified contractors to deliver the project on behalf of the Concessionaire - his client.
In the early stages of the project, Mark's work encapsulated the project management as well as the construction and engineering planning with a focus on early design and the risks surrounding the management and delivery, based on experience.
Fundamental in the early stages was the management of cultures and planning involved in the staging of works based on those differences.
Mark successfully delivered the Baseline and Detailed Work Programmes to Bangkok MRT and managed the contractor's programmes prior to handing over the project controls reigns to local planners, trained and coached during the process.
The project was delivered on time and on budget in 2016 according to the contract and Detailed Work Programme, provided to the client in 2012.

TYC is engaged to advise on the pre and post contract Programme and Planning for the Rolling Stock and Engineering and Mechanical (E&M) packages of the project, including Trackwork, Signalling, Traction Power and Automatic Fare Collection.
The project packages are currently in various phases and require significant interface and design management which includes interaction with several local and international engineering and civil construction contractors.
We call upon our decades of Planning, Risk Management and Delivery experience to advise the government of Philippines Department of Transport (DOTr) and Japan International Cooperation Agency on strategy and risk reduction.
The project is a 38km elevated Metro with 10 stations and a Depot under construction.
The 8 car, 13 Trainset Rolling Stock contract is being manufactured by JTREC in Japan under a Joint Venture agreement (JSJV) with Sumitomo Corp.
The E&M element of the project is currently in the Design phase and is a turnkey project managed and delivered under a Design & Build contract, undertaken by Hitachi Rail (HRSTS).
The project is funded by a JICA ODA loan and is the first phase of a 3 phase wider project totaling 150+km - jointly funded by the Asian Development Bank.

Our people provided MTR Europe with independent specialist expertise regarding the staging and possessional planning strategy for extending the platforms at Liverpool Street Station to accomodate the newly procured longer Elizabeth Line trainsets.
Our aim, as always was to provide accurate and informed advice based on our ground (and below) level experience, to ensure the seamless and risk free delivery of the project.
The work was undertaken toward the end of the Crossrail programme of works.

Our people provided Lead Planning expertise which involved a major variation to the methodology and sequencing, requiring a substantial re-programming exercise for the delivery phase during detailed design.
We were directly responsible for the development and approval of a re-baseline to enable continued contract execution, through to handover.

Over 150km of roads and 170 bridges of various sizes, with some very challenging physical and legislative obstacles - including the protection of some of Australia's most protected Fauna and Flora - brings the requirement for a high level of project management and planning, supplied by our people at the sharp end of this project which remained open to traffic, therefore requiring some very complicated and time sensitive traffic switching staging.
